Dancehall artiste and Zylofon music signee Shatta Wale has called on the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to intervene and amicably settle the seeming scuffle between MenzGold Ghana Limited and the Bank of Ghana.

The Bank of Ghana recently warned the public against making money deposits with the gold-trading company and alleged the company’s operations are in contravention of banking regulations.

Even though MenzGold has denied breaching any regulation, the matter still does not seem settled as there are reports that the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Nana Appiah Mensah, will appear before EOCO later in the week for questioning.

The latest twist to the matter are allegations from the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) that MenzGold does not even have licence to trade in gold as it has been revoked. This has, however, been denied by MenzGold.

All these developments do not seem to go down well with the “dancehall king” who is a signee of a company owned by the MenzGold boss.

Accordingly, he took to Twitter to express his frustrations, calling for the intervention of the President.

According to him, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly called NAM 1, has set the pace in his contribution to the development of Ghana, especially the showbiz industry.

Shatta Wale believes the contributions of Nana Appiah is exactly the king of “Change” the President promised Ghanaians on assuming office.

The ‘Gringo’ hitmaker admits there are laws in Ghana but doubts if they ever worked in the interest of Ghanaians, especially the youth who are enthused about showbiz:

Shatta Wale suggests if MenzGold goes down it will have a ripple effect on the art industry, which is a possible collapse, and he would not wish it happens under President Akufo-Addo:

Shatta Wale is set to release his much anticipated ‘The Reign’ album in October.
