Epixode (L) has shared how Shatta Wale (R) made them pack chairs from an event center
Reggae/Dancehall artiste Epixode has recounted his experience with Shatta Wale during his Bandana days.
In an interview with Kafui Dey, shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on April 14, 2026, Epixode noted that the acclaimed dancehall king has not changed since he first got to know him.
According to Epixode, Shatta Wale has a great sense of humour and does not tolerate any form of nonsense.

He added that despite his attitude, he motivated many of them to thrive in the music industry.
“He is still the same person, funny and no-nonsense. He is just different, and one of the people history will document as unique, and you can’t take that away from him.
Many artistes struggle with live performances because they lack experience - Epixode
“Wale is someone you want to be around, but in the next few minutes, if he gets angry, you wouldn’t want to be near him. But I think from the movement we started back then, we all saw what he was going to become… His spirit was different from all of us. Even if things weren’t working, he would make sure they did,” he said.
Epixode further shared how Shatta Wale once forced them to pack plastic chairs from an event centre after organisers refused to pay him for a performance.
“We have been to shows where they refused to pay us GH¢50, and he made us pack all the plastic chairs, saying they wouldn’t hold any show unless they paid us… I think that charisma is what pushed most of us, regardless of all the fights,” he added.
