"However, it is important to study it in school in order to know how to handle and teach it well to others".
Of course, everyone can learn history without going to school. Knowledge abounds in our age. You can learn history from credible websites, from books that you buy or from podcasts and Youtube videos. That is what the speaker is emphasizing. Why did you distort that?
