  How has democracy caused problems for Africa? Has democracy forced the hands of thieving politicians to be vision-less and incompetent? What makes you think monarchies will solve Africa's governing issues? You mention the example of a monarchy in the UK, but you're forgetting that most countries in Europe where democracy is practiced well do not have monarchies. And even the few countries that still have monarchies, those monarchies are merely ceremonial. democracy isn't causing problems for African countries; African countries have leaders who are selfish, greedy, myopic and more concerned about padding their bank accounts and staying in power indefinitely, and hardly any care for nation-building. Can't have monarchies running African countries or participating actively in government when these countries do not have a single monarchy in each country. How then are monarchies to be picked in each country to act as the sole monarchy in the land without more fighting among royal houses? The mess in African governments will not be solved by resorting to the use of monarchies. You can't take a monarchy system in the UK that has been in effect got centuries and think the same can be beneficial to African countries. African countries have too many chiefs, and you'll be calling for more dysfunctionalism in government if African countries were to adopt a monarchy system of government. Across Africa, only the some North African countries have single monarchies like that found in the UK, and the monarchies in these countries have each had single monarchies over each countries for hundreds of years, unlike most African countries with their fractured tribal and regional divisions in newly created countries that have never had a single monarch involved in the running of a nation. Instead of advocating for monarchies in Africa, it would be better to demand better performance from Africa's elected officials as well as the establishment of an independent media. In Ghana, for example, the bulk of the media is in the hands of NDC and NPP politicians and their business cronies. The media can't serve as a tool to expose bad governance or corruption if the media continues to be under the control of politicians. And in a nation where the media lacks real independence, governance always suffers, and the public is deprived of opportunity for true investigative journalism that usually serves to expose corruption while keeping elected officials on their toes.
