Bisa Kdei, I understand your plight, but please forgive the pastor. It is not his fault. All well established churches have strict terms, rules and regulations regarding funerals. Over the years, churches faced the burden of shouldering the responsibility of some 'church members' who do not contribute to funeral funds or attend members funerals. Some too do not come to church unless they have a problem. There is however a consideration for poor members who cannot afford funeral dues but are active members. Those who can no longer come to church due to old age or incapacitation are also considered. A non-member but a spouse, parent or child of a member in good standing is also considered. Every church has their rules which they constantly remind bembers of. The rules are so clear that any member can raise an objection or resort to internal arbitration if they feel their right has been violated. Stopping the church is not the solution (You will be at the losing side, not the pastor or the church). I will plead with Bisa to resume church attendance as early as possible. Even if you are not happy with your mother church, look for another church. It is a deception to say you attend church in your heart. God bless you Bisa.
