Its sad we can't do serious thinking now in Ghana. Is it the word "night" that is our problem? What is wrong if a club opens for 24hours? Why can't I go to the club after I close from work at 4pm and go home at 9pm? It is the atmosphere in the room that bears the name night and not necessarily the time of the day. How many elderly or working class people can leave home at 1am to go club as done now? I think this is the greatest idea for the entertainment industry in Ghana.

The examples you cited are from advanced societies whose socioeconomic dynamics are entirely different from that of Ghana. These societies don't have the challenges that confront us as a people; we cannot feed ourselves, provide employment for the teeming masses of our youth, take care of the filth that engulf the streets of our cities and towns, etc. In any case how does 24-hour operation of discos mitigate the numerous challenges that confront us as a nation? Rather than envisaging this incoherent and dangerous proposition of the 24- hour economy nonsense as the driver of economic growth, it should rather be seen as a byproduct of economic growth.
It is laughable that any reasonable person would put this on the table as a policy intended to drive any serious transformation of the country. Even if this 24-hour disco policy were possible in the current scheme of things, do we as a country have what it takes to deal with it's potential deleterious and untoward effects of increase drug use, sexual perversion with its attendant sequel of HIV infection,etc. In this dispensation where governments around the world are using AI and other forms of digitalization to drive economic growth, we have a group of people in Ghana whose solution to free us from the economic quagmire we find ourselves in is a certain amorphous 24- hour economy of which the 24-hour disco has become it's newest face .
My verdict is simple: John Mahama and his desperate disciples should not be allowed anywhere close to the Jubilee House, at least for now.

Therefore the foremost thing to do is to create the demand and follow that up with the 24- hour Economy. To conceive that policy in the manner that it has been envisage right now is akin to putting the cart before the horse.

Even state institutions do not run 24hrs except a few specialised units with specific duties that run 24b7 shift systems. Even, in advanced countries, hospitals do not run 24b7 100%.

That's why I think the NDC is either not serious or they think Ghanaians are idiots.
