If a man finds it easy to keep matters from you, then you may have to check yourself, too. In marriage, a man does not consult his wife; they discuss as partners. Each other's money belongs to the family. If you say I had to use "my money" to sort things out, then you are not his partner in the marriage. He carries the burden, and so he is bound to make decisions without discussing with his partner, as he considers himself as not having one.

My advice to you is to check yourself, be a partner, not the police and let the man feel comfortable that he has a partner in his wife.
