'I will marry again' - Portia Boateng opens up after 2 unsuccessful marriages

Within the Ghanaian entertainment industry, there have been several celebrity divorces, and Kumawood actress Portia Asare Boateng, who is one of them and has encountered two failed marriages, has shared why her marriages did not end well and expressed her intent to remarry.

Speaking at the “Scars to Stars Conference” held at the Adenta Baptist Church on April 4, 2026, the Kumawood actress explained that she believes her past choices in marriage were not guided by God, which contributed to the breakdown of those relationships.

According to her, God does not make mistakes, so if she had relied on Him in choosing her ex-husbands, things would have turned out differently.

“Because I did not rely on God in choosing the husbands I chose. I’m sure. God doesn’t make mistakes. You know, in my second marriage, when the trauma started, I used to tell myself that affliction would not happen the second time, but affliction did happen.

“Would you say that God didn’t listen to me? He did. He was with me even until now. He never left me,” she noted.

Portia Boateng looked back on her past experiences and stated that she still believes she has not passed her prime years when it comes to marriage.

According to her, despite going through two unsuccessful marriages, she is open to love and is praying for another chance at marriage.

She indicated that if the opportunity presents itself again, she would not hesitate to embrace it.

“If marriage comes, I will marry. In fact, I am even praying about it. If it comes a thousand times, a million times, why not? Am I not beautiful as I sit here? Am I too old? Ei, me, I do not care about it oo. If God helps me to get one, I will marry,” she noted.

Meanwhile, on July 1, 2021, Portia Asare Boateng tied the knot with Raymond Kwaku Marfo in a beautiful ceremony, marking her second marriage.

However, the union did not last, as the divorce was confirmed in August 2024.

This came after her first marriage to Pastor John Wilberforce, whom she married in 2013, also ended in divorce.
