Parents demand justice after influencer found dead on trip with fiancé

What was meant to be her happiest getaway for her 31st birthday and engagement to fiancé Joe McCann in Zanzibar has turned into a moment of sorrow, as American lifestyle influencer Ashly Robinson was found dead days after the celebration.

After her body was discovered in a hotel room, new details have emerged, with her parents and sympathisers demanding justice.

In a video shared by CBS News on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on April 14, 2026, the parents of the late 31-year-old described her sudden death as unreal.

According to her mother, Yolanda Endres, and father, Harry Robinson, their daughter’s vacation was supposed to be one of the happiest moments of her life.

They explained that the trip to Zuri Zanzibar had been her dream.

“…Nothing about this loss feels real. One moment, she was celebrating love and life in true Ashly fashion, and the next, she was gone. The suddenness, the unanswered questions, and the distance from home have made this tragedy even more overwhelming for our family,” the family said.

Ashly’s parents are also demanding justice for the sudden loss of their daughter.

According to them, they only heard from her fiancé, Joe McCann, about 11 hours after the incident that allegedly led to her death.

“…Although we have many questions, we are placing our trust in officials in Zanzibar and are working closely with them as we seek clarity and answers.

“Ashly was deeply loved. She was vibrant, full of life, and had so much ahead of her. Our family is completely devastated, and we appreciate the prayers and compassion we have received as we navigate this unimaginable loss.”

When asked whether they suspect Joe McCann had any involvement in their daughter’s death, Yolanda Endres noted that the matter is still under investigation.

“It is under investigation, and we just want transparency… I want everyone to know that she was full of life, a beautiful person. This doesn’t align with who she was,” she added.

Ashly, who had more than 71,000 Instagram followers, was known for sharing lifestyle, fashion, and personal content. As tributes continue to pour in online, her family and supporters await official findings while urging authorities to establish a clear account of events.
