Fameye is a Ghanaian highlife musician
Ghanaian Highlife musician Fameye has opened up about a difficult experience he faced abroad, revealing how he was left stranded despite having made prior arrangements.
Speaking in an interview on Onua Show Time on April 14, 2026, the artiste shared that his new song, titled “Traveller,” was inspired by the struggles many people face when they travel outside their home country.
“I have a new song out there and the title is `Traveller’. It is basically talking about how travellers suffer abroad,” he said.
Fameye recounted how, during his first trip, a friend had promised to receive him at the airport and provide accommodation.
“The first time I was travelling, a friend told me he would pick me up at the airport and accommodate me. He said his house was nice and he had a lot of rooms,” he explained.

However, he said things did not go as planned upon his arrival.
“When I got there, he didn’t answer my calls. I called him severally but he never answered,” he stated.
Left with no option, the musician said he had to spend the night at a train station in France, an experience that made him long for home.
“I was stranded, so I had to sleep at the train station in France. That moment made me miss Ghana,” he noted.
Fameye further shared that the song also carries a personal message dedicated to the mother of his children.
“This song is also special to the woman who gave me two children. I understood what she went through when I wasn’t around. She had always been there for our children and me,” he added.
