Ghanaian music star Black Sherif has stated that two of his songs deserve recognition in the Gospel Song of the Year category at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

The musician made the assertion during an appearance on Onua Showtime with Nana Ama McBrown, where they discussed the spirituality behind his songs, with McBrown noting that "Sacrifice" feels like a gospel song, to which Black Sherif agreed.

Industry figure and blogger Kobby Kyei, who was a panellist, kicked things off by suggesting "Sacrifice" should have been nominated, to which Black Sherif responded by adding "Lord I'm Amazed" to the list.

"Yeah, and 'Lord I'm Amazed,'" he said.

Both songs are drawn from his sophomore album ‘Iron Boy,’ released on April 3, 2025.

Black Sherif described "Lord I'm Amazed" as his "prayer and testimony," blending gospel-inspired melodies with heartfelt lyrics.

The numbers back up their cultural impact. "Lord I'm Amazed" has amassed over 5.1 million views on YouTube, while "Sacrifice" has crossed 13 million views on the platform.

It is also the most streamed song on Spotify Ghana for the year 2025.
