'I am not interested in filling stadiums' - Okyeame Kwame

Following the global trend of artistes finding fulfillment in headlining their own concerts at sports stadiums, veteran Hiplife musician Okyeame Kwame has stated that he is not focused on hosting or filling stadiums with musical concerts.

In an interview on Talk To Kula aired on May 4, 2026, he explained that while he once had that ambition, he now finds fulfillment in other things rather than filling a stadium.

“When I was much younger, I wanted to do that, but now I’m happier sitting by a river and thinking to myself. That, for me, is more fulfilling than filling a stadium. I want to be happy. All things being equal, I have less than 50 years on earth, so I want to enjoy myself. I’m not about to carry on too many problems,” he said.

However, the 50-year-old rapper clarified that if the opportunity arises to fill a stadium, he would not rule it out, but he is simply not fixated on it.

“I am not interested in doing that. However, when it gets to a point where it is possible for me to do it, I won’t say I wouldn’t, but I’m not fixated on those things,” he stated.

Okyeame Kwame further added, “I am more interested in impact, especially in Ghana, through the music, through learning new things, and through interacting with people who want to bring development into the country. That is more of my direction now.”

Several Ghanaian musicians, including Medikal, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Fancy Gadam, Shatta Wale and others have headlined sold-out concerts in various stadiums across the country.
