'Dancegod ignored me when I contacted him' - Oseikrom Sikani

Ghanaian musician Oseikrom Sikani has dismissed claims that he deliberately refuses to pay dancers to promote his music. He explained that his decision to create dance routines for his songs stems from past experiences of being ignored by choreographers.

Speaking in a recent interview, the rapper said he has, on several occasions, reached out to dancers and offered to pay them to create dance routines for his songs. However, he claimed many of them failed to follow through despite initially agreeing.

“Bossu let me tell you this, when I do music I contact dancers, but they don’t mind me. They are fun-foolers; they will agree to do it and still not do it,” he said.

Oseikrom Sikani specifically mentioned Ghanaian choreographer Dancegod Lloyd, claiming he personally contacted him to help promote one of his songs through dance but received no response despite offering payment.

“Dancegod, I can contact him and beg him, but he ignores me afterwards. I even offered payment but still,” he added.

According to the musician, the repeated disappointments eventually led him to stop relying on dancers and instead create his own dance routines to accompany his songs.

He explained that he no longer sees the need to chase choreographers when he is capable of doing it himself.

“So when I noticed that, I stopped contacting them. I do it myself; I don’t even force it. We have forced so many things that didn’t work out, so I have stopped,” he stated.

His comments come in response to the widely held perception that he prefers creating dance routines for his songs himself because he is unwilling to pay dancers for promotional support.
