People may not be reaping the protections that auto insurance is expected to provide, but the solution should not be a call for the government not to make it mandatory for motorists. It will make sense to contact the agency that regulates insurance carriers and provide that agency with complaints about the insurance providers that need to be addressed. Many communities in Ghana pay taxes to the government, some of which taxes are to be used to repair roads; many roads often remain unrepaired for years; should the citizens of these communities stop paying taxes just because governments over the years have failed to repair their roads?

I think it must not be mandatory like road worthy because just like wayoosi said the government needs it to make good roads but as for insurance, i think it must be a choice. Or the government or MPs must have a deep conversation about it back with laws especially for the insurance people.

All these foolish people are walking about calling themselves 'stars'.

In some countries, without vehicle insurance, you cannot even register your vehicle and this is the process:
1) Insure the vehicle.
2) Insurance company gives you an 8-digit code
3) Go to vehicle registration office with the code.

So without insurance, there's no way you can register the vehicle.

Note that insurance companies there will always inform the registration office of any changes in your policy.
