'We need a reset the mind!'- Keche Joshua fumes over return of filth

Joshua, a member of the popular Keche music group, has expressed outrage after spotting heaps of rubbish dumped under the East Legon overhead bridge, barely weeks after devastating floods killed dozens of people and prompted a cleanup exercise across Accra.

In a video shared on social media on July 28, 2026, a visibly frustrated Joshua pointed his camera at the filth piling up under the overhead structure, questioning what it would take for Ghanaians to change their attitudes toward sanitation.

"Look at the filth! The East Legon overhead. Look at this! Why are we like this? Why is the Blackman like this? What kind of mindset do we have?" he said.

The musician called for a shift in how Ghanaians think about their environment, stating that only a change in attitude would solve the problem.

"We need to go inside the mind of the Blackman and do a reset. Because what is this? Why can't we learn?" he said.

Joshua pointed to the June 29 floods, which caused widespread destruction across Accra, killing at least 34 people and wiping out homes and businesses, as a lesson that has not been learned.

"Just recently we saw the floods and what happened as a result of choked gutters. And so soon, filth has started covering the city again. Why?" he asked.

His outburst comes just weeks after President John Dramani Mahama ordered a two-day national cleanup exercise on July 10 and 11, which saw markets and shops shuttered across Greater Accra and security agencies deployed to enforce compliance.
