Ghanaian Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, has shared his thoughts on what he describes as an “unnecessary comparison” between actors and skitmakers.

In a video shared on social media and sighted by GhanaWeb on September 30, 2026, the actor, who was at the Accra International Airport to welcome movie stars from Nigeria who are joining the cast of his “Journey to Africa” movie, noted that it is disrespectful to compare YouTube skitmakers to professional actors.

According to him, YouTubers and skit makers cannot be compared to professional actors because they do not operate at the same level when it comes to acting.

'Adom Kyei-Duah is the reason Black Stars even qualified'- LilWin slams critics

“The YouTubers do not care about the stars. I am releasing an EP; go and look at the quality of the videos, so it is only in Ghana that professional actors are being compared to YouTubers, and it doesn't make any sense.

“Go to Nigeria; there is Sabinu and others; can you compare such people to Kanayo O Kanayo? But in Ghana, they are comparing YouTubers to stars; meanwhile, they can even reach our level,” he said.

LilWin further stated that his primary goal is to help revive the Ghanaian movie industry, adding that film remains one of the most effective mediums for showcasing Ghanaian culture on the international stage.

'The rest are not good' - LilWin brags after winning Best Actor Award

“This is the only profession that can project Ghana, our culture, and also revamp the Ghanaian movie industry. It is the right time for Ghanaians to keep quiet and appreciate what I am doing and support so the movie industry can be great again.

“So, stop saying that an actor is no longer relevant. Let the person act, and then the work itself will speak for itself,” he added.
