Ghanaian media personality Tilly Akua Nipa has taken a swipe at fashion critic Fire Stick following a recent statement he made about the branding of Ghanaian companies.
Recently, Fire Stick, during a discussion on Pluzz FM, noted that the standard of branding by Ghanaian companies is very poor.
Citing Ghanaian actress Nana Ama McBrown, who is the brand ambassador for Hisense, Fire Stick argued that the way the company's products are advertised gives the impression that it is locally owned.

“Very poor. Let me give an example. It was recently that I found out that Hisense is an international company. All this while, I thought it was a local brand like Kantanka.
“No disrespect to Nana Ama McBrown, but the way it has been advertised gives some Made-in-Ghana vibes,” he said.
Following Fire Stick’s comments, Tilly, in a post shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on November 5, 2026, criticised the fashion critic.
According to Tilly, Fire Stick’s level of thinking is below the bar, hence describing him as “dumb.”
Tilly explained that localising an international brand is a marketing strategy aimed at appealing to and capturing a targeted audience.
“This guy is exceptionally dumb! Wawolo! So the concept of localising an international brand to capture and own a market never occurred to him?

“Even well-known international franchises like KFC have had to localise their marketing, advertising and even product offerings to appeal to the Ghanaian market,” she said.
To further buttress her point, Tilly cited KFC as an example, noting that the company has partnered with local businesses through its franchise model and introduced products tailored to the Ghanaian market, including KFC chichinga.
“That’s how we ended up with things like KFC’s chichinga and other localised offerings. Honestly, we have to stop automatically ascribing intelligence to these been-tos. He never misses an opportunity to demonstrate just how clueless he can be.”
