  "He (DL) particularly mentioned the increased presence of Police in our communities, business centres and highways, and said that the Ghanaian society is safer now than it was before." Before present times, the nation was serene and safer even without the presence of the police in our communities. Check, the increasing spate of crime is a most recent development even with heavy policing around us. This in my view, could be attributed to high population growth, dwindling economic capacity, urbanisation and abandonment of the traditional economy, influx of hazardous foreigners into our country, lack of political will and commitment to help grow the economy or abandoning the persuit self interest on the part of politicians, and bad nuts within the security agencies. So my beloved and snr DL, the statement should have been that, you commend the presence of the police in the areas mentioned and that without that, the situation could have been worse by now, and not before.
