The only Computed Tomography (CT) Scan at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) which broke down compelling patients to pay exorbitant fee to private entities to go through any scanning process referred to by their doctors has been fixed after media reportage.
Previously, patients seeking medical treatment at the second largest health facility in the country had to go through tough times due to the breakdown of the only CT Scan creating problems for both patients and doctors.
However, a working a visit to the facility after media reportage revealed management of the facility who earlier were accused of reneging on their responsibilities have taken steps ensuring Scan is back into operation following public backlash.
The breakdown, according to some doctors who spoke to earlier on conditions of strict anonymity complained about how the situation is having a negative toll on the services they are providing to patients.
An engineer at the Hospital also said the situation is getting out of hand as there is pressure on operational CT Scan, which he observed may break down as a result.
He said the situation becomes worrying, especially at times the hospital is to receive emergency cases.
