The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has described the ongoing investigation into his alleged leaked tape as a diversionary tactic by the Akufo-Addo government.
Speaking to Journalists after meeting with investigators over his alleged comments in that leaked Thursday, Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo maintained he’s innocent of the charges against him.
“These are diversionary tactics. We want to remain focus…very…very focus on our agenda of winning 2020.
“My only advice is that if there’s anybody to arrest and focus on, they should focus on the dollar that has escaped and it is running away and not focus on Ofosu-Ampofo. I am not a security threat to this country,” he told Journalists.
The NDC National Chairman is on a GH¢400, 000 bail after meeting the Police CID over the remarks on Monday.
He is to reappear before the police CID on Tuesday.
