An Independent Presidential Candidate in the 2012 presidential elections, Jacob Osei Yeboah, says he is very much aware of the politicians who tried to bribe the outgoing Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, Prof. Emmanuel Martey.

“I know all the details but I can’t disclose them to the public”, he noted in an interaction with Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM on Thursday.

He was responding to Prof. Martey’s recently held press conference where he told journalists that some unnamed politicians tried bribing him with US$100,000.00 and further promised him a mansion at Trassaco Village and a four wheel drive to tame his tongue over national issues, which he declined.

According to Mr. Yeboah, Prof. Martey had long informed him about the incident which took place in his (Prof. Martey) house before bringing it to the public domain, believing that the outgoing moderator spilled the beans because “he couldn’t contain it anymore”.

“You can see that he spilled the beans because he couldn’t contain it anymore. It is something which has been worrying him for a very long time. He found it strange that as a politician whether you are in government or in opposition, you will come and bribe him to keep his mouth shut over things he considers are of interest to the nation. That is what was worrying him that somebody could come and bribe him”.

“So, I wasn’t expecting him to have talked about the bribery incident at his press conference but it tells you that he couldn’t contain it anymore. But I think that he was also economical with what he wanted to put across”, he added.

Mr. Yeboah said he got to know about the incident when he went to the Moderator to commune with over certain pressing issues of national interest.
