Kwasi Kwarteng (L) has replied Dennis Aboagye (R) over his claims
Kwasi Kwarteng, a lecturer and spokesperson for Kennedy Agyapong, has issued a sharp response to Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Spokesperson for former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, accusing him of deliberately misrepresenting his candidate's recent comments.
In a lengthy post on social media, Kwarteng alleged that Aboagye and others in the Bawumia campaign were attempting to “twist” Ken Agyapong’s remarks by taking short clips out of context to create a false narrative.
He further claimed that the former vice president’s camp benefited from “irregularities and manipulations” during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) last presidential primary, particularly in the North East Region.
“But for these systemic infractions designed in favour of your candidate, there was no way he could have pulled the 61% he got in the last primaries,” Kwarteng wrote.
He said the Agyapong team had chosen to remain silent on the alleged electoral injustices out of respect for party unity, but insisted that the recent establishment of an “Anti-Rigging Committee” by Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign was intended to prevent similar occurrences in the upcoming January 2026 NPP presidential primary.

Kwarteng also dismissed suggestions that Kennedy Agyapong’s public utterances contributed to the NPP’s 2024 electoral defeat, arguing instead that the government mismanagement and economic hardships under Dr Bawumia’s leadership were to blame.
He criticised what he described as the “arrogance of power” and “condescending communication style” of some members of the former vice president’s team, warning that such attitudes could harm the party’s unity and future electoral chances.
“The same pride, combativeness, and arrogance that cost us the 2024 election seem to have intensified in opposition and could very well become the bane of our 2028 campaign,” he cautioned.
This exchange comes on the back of growing tensions within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of its January 2026 presidential primary, where Kennedy Agyapong and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are expected to face off once again.

Kwasi Kwarteng (Lecturer & Campaign Spokesperson to Hon. Ken Agyapong) Writes:
Dear Mr Dennis Miracles Aboagye,
1. I’ve seen your post once again attempting to twist comments made by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong. It’s the same old strategy of taking short clips, cutting them out of context, and framing a completely false narrative just to make Ken look bad. This would not change the overwhelming evidence of irregularities and manipulations that worked in favour of your candidate, especially in the North East Region. But for these systemic infractions designed in favour of your candidate, there was no way he could have pulled the 61% he got in the last primaries.
2. Our team intentionally chose silence on those matters because we value the image and unity of the party. I have no doubt that if we had earlier complained about these electoral injustices, your camp would have been the same people to have blamed us for your candidate’s poor performance in the general elections.
3. Ken’s comments were not made in a vacuum. They stem from a place of injustice and the evidence of rigging in the last elections. If someone gets 92 votes in an election and they are counted as zero, that is potent enough to trigger outrage. This is precisely why the team has set up an Anti-Rigging Committee to protect the party from internal manipulation in the next primaries. If your team truly believes in unity and fairness, you should be welcoming this initiative instead of discrediting the concerns raised.
4. On your tired insinuations that we lost the 2024 elections because of Ken’s utterances, I am not sure those ‘’utterances’’ included the famous claim that "when the fundamentals are weak, the exchange rate will expose you," at a time when the cedi was incompetently moved from 4 to 17 to the dollar. I also doubt it was Ken’s utterances that stopped our government from paying the over 100,000 NABCO employees.
5. Again, Ken never lied about building an airport for the Central region, so there’s definitely no way the people of Central voted against us because of something Ken said. In any event, was Ken the one who implemented the Domestic Debt Exchange Program that dishearteningly destroyed people's savings? Was he the head of the economic Management team that recorded the worst inflation in our history? Was it Ken who promised to fix the economy? Or was it Ken who switched to preaching digitilisation when what Ghanaians desperately needed was a clear, open, honest, and hopeful message about the collapsed economy then?
6. Not to talk of the arrogance of power displayed by some of you who mistook government communication for talking down to citizens, dismissing public concerns, and making ordinary Ghanaians feel unheard. You cannot treat genuine concerns with disrespect, continue to exhibit the same condescending and combative attitude towards senior party members who helped build this tradition long before your candidate ever dreamt of leading it, and turn to blame others for our loss.
7. And before I forget, I want to remind you that, in communication, one can make their point strongly without being rude or disrespectful to others. Many have complained about your posture in communicating, and I believe it’s about time you tell your story with respect and dignity towards others. The same pride, combativeness, and arrogance that cost us the 2024 election seem to have intensified in opposition and could very well become the bane of our 2028 campaign, in the unlikely event your candidate even wins the primaries.
