NPP parliamentary candidate shares yoghurt with first-time registrants in Accra

A video has emerged online showing the NPP parliamentary candidate for Korle Klottey, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, sharing yoghurt with individuals at a location purported to be a registration centre in Osu, a suburb of Accra.

The video, shared on Facebook by Accra-based Onua FM, captures Nii Noi Nortey serving yoghurt to people believed to be first-time voters seated under a canopy.

In the video, Nii Noi Nortey, accompanied by his aides, can be seen serving yoghurt from a rubber container to individuals seated around him. Amidst loud cheers from the crowd, a woman can be heard encouraging others to vote for him.

Although the video suggests that the sharing took place at a registration centre, it remains unclear whether this is accurate or not.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Limited Voters' Registration began on May 7, 2024.

According to the Electoral Commission, the exercise aims to enfranchise eligible Ghanaians who have turned 18.

The registration period will conclude on May 20, 2024.
