It is very insulting to suggest that any body who votes for the NDC in the Ashanti Region is a nation wrecker? How and why . Is this the man that is said to come from a loyal family? Even with the counsel given him by the Asantehene, this ugly guy has stupidity in his DNA and nothing will change him.
The people of the Ashanti Region should compare what Mahama did for the region in four years to what Akuffo Addo has done in eight year and decide who did better for the region . No wonder the Asantehene is soliciting funds from the Ashantis to upgrade the dilapidated KNUST hospital , something that should have done by Akuffo Addo . Gone are the days of traveling with private jets coupled with other extravagant and profligate living, now replaced by a newfound fondness for chopping kenkey in a local eateries. The father of the nation dwells in desperado.
The optics are clear: the president seeks to connect with the common man, to show that they too can relate to the everyday struggles of the average Ghanaian citizen. But can this sudden change in behavior truly be seen as genuine?
One cannot help but wonder if this is merely a calculated move to garner votes, a desperate attempt to cling to power as the election looms large. The center, it seems, cannot hold - at least not without a few well-timed photo ops and carefully crafted public appearances.
As the president takes a bite of kenkey, smiling for the cameras, one can't help but question the sincerity behind this sudden change. Is this truly a leader who has had a change of heart, or merely one who sees the writing on the wall and is desperate to cling to power?

The headline is different from the article. Yes it is a fact that for the 8 years of Mills/Mahama administration they only put the Ashanti region under CAPITATION. He should have mentioned the word CAPITATION! One friend I worked with once said the purpose of capitation in that region was to reduce their population, whether that was true.
Then again he said people LIVING in the Ashanti region. It is also a fact not only Asantes that live in that region. So that is also a fact. So anything good affecting that region would not only Asantes!
