Beyond the criminal and security implications, cases like this can damage Ghana’s international reputation and affect ordinary Ghanaians. Countries assess immigration and security risks when issuing visas, and a negative perception of Ghana can contribute to stricter scrutiny, more documentation requirements and difficulties for genuine travellers. We should therefore demand a transparent investigation based on evidence, not political protection or speculation. The actions of a few should not make travelling more difficult for millions of law-abiding Ghanaians.
