I sincerely believe that Mr. Stephen Amoah has gone too far in his prediction that there would be suicide bombings if Mahama wins the next elections. It is the right of any opposition member to point out the failings and excess of the government in power, and use them to convince electorates not to vote for the incumbent in the next elections.

This is genuine politics and your constitutional right, but you cannot say that there would be suicide bombings if Ghanaians ignore your warnings and still vote for him despite the hunger and the hardship they are experiencing under his government. The next thing Mr. Stephen needs to do, if he believes the incumbent could wrongfully use his position to influence the outcome of the elections, is to make sure that the elections are free and fair. And that is why the IEA constitutional reform proposals are very important.

The same method was used against Allan in 2008 Legon congress when then National Organizer Lord Commey few minutes to voting by delegates announced that Alan's camp was doling out monies to delegates outside. This caused disaffection for the fine gentleman. It later turned out to be an orchestrated ploy to give advantage to Nana Addo. It happened again in 2010 and its happening now. This is dirty politics just as politics is dirty. Fight a good fight to win a clean race and leave Alan alone.

In fact, when I started reading the piece, I thought it was just a speculation, until I read that the issue was raised in court. The whole things sounds so infantile! How could an NPP member bypass all the many NPP lawyers to hire the services on an NDC lawyer to fight a case within the NPP. Did the plaintiff not realise that he would have to divulge some inside information to the lawyer which would come back and haunt the party?
Why else would people not speculate that the whole thing is an outside job by the NDC? And that the plaintiffs in fact hold NDC membership cards?
