  These days, it's a common fact that government run factories are bound to fail. If he can't understand that he should look at our past, he should at the western world he visits all the time and learn from them. It's a good dream but not sensible. Where's Bawumia on this? He should rather create the incentives like generous tax breaks for small and medium scale enterprises. Nobody wants factories opened today and closed tomorrow.

Nana are you serious? you want to reduce taxes and electricity tariffs, you want to get all nurses and graduates employed and pay them, you want to cut down every single tax significantly and at the same time you want to build nearly 200 factories one from each of the districts with millions of dollars? who will you sell those products to? how will you get funds for such products. I am not surprise because when he first mentioned it even his own party members questioned him, now when he went to campaign in rural ares where chiefs know nothing about costs of projects and implications and have been brainwashed to believe that idea he Nana is now using it to corner them.

  To come up with such an idea only 5 months to elections shows lack of seriousness and taking Ghanaians for granted.

I suggest u tell us in every region u can build may be 5 or 10 which will quiet realistic, am saying dis cos we don't want another blanket promise like e one made by e current government in relations to 200 community day schools. pls I know e period in which we find ourselves but may be after e election u can eat ur humble pie n tell us e truth, pls .

  The purple-blood hatred that flowed in the veins of the UP/NLM leaders to blind them to the ultimate good of the Nkrumah agenda seems to have been diluted a bit in Akufo-Addo with his affiliation with Bawumia.
  
  I hope, though, that this is not only a ploy to win over voters only to abandon the ideas scooped up from the past.
  
  The wastage of abandoning the Factories Nkrumah built to rot, or selling them off cheaply to incompetent cronies to make a quick buck without ensuring the expansion or growth of those Firms have all come back full circle to hurt us all.
  
  In the name of saving the Nation from Nkrumah to Capitalism, our past UP/NLM leaders who later took over from their facilitating NLC Military Junta, followed through with the CIA directed deceptive mantra of characterizing all those existing Factories as prestigious Projects to misdirect the Public to hate and reject Nkrumah and everything he touched more, and abandoning the Factories, and bringing back School Fees to even Elementary Schools.
  
  Meanwhile, the West was only interested in slowing down Ghana's progress to signal to all potential African Freedom-seeking Colonies that Independence was not safe for them and Ghana's eventual failure was to serve as evidence to that. Simultaneously, the disruption of our efforts to industrialize served the Economic purpose of the West to keep us ever dependent on them for basic imports. In that way, we could always be easily manipulated by them.
  
  So, our efforts to wean ourselves from preponderant import-dependent Economy was deliberately thwarted by the West to save their own Economies at our expense. And our UP/NLM stooges of the West happily complied to facilitate that pernicious scheme.
  
  It is ironic that while the West sought to destroy the dreams of Nkrumah's Ghana to become self-reliant, and an industrial hub in our subregion, the same West was frantically propping up Lee Kuan Yew to achieve exactly that with not much different modalities as Nkrumah applied.
  
  Nkrumah's image was quickly overshadowed with the louder and wider Western proclamation of his dictatorial tendencies. Meanwhile, Lee was no more benign a dictator who would not budge for his opposition, all so that his agenda would not be interrupted or interfered with.
  
  Coincidentally, Lee later confessed to have been sharing developmental plans with Nkrumah. The main and most conspicuous difference in the effects of their programs was that the West would not let Nkrumah succeed but would assist Lee to do so. Other factors like the strategic geopolitical location of Singapore at the fringes of the bearish Communists of China and Soviet Union, from where the West could further project their Military surveillance over their suspicious ideological enemies, also added to the reasons for the West's massive and intensive support for Lee's program.
  
  That is one big conveniently overlooked fact that our 'pathetically pro-Western' (borrowing from Amb. Mahoney's description of our bribed Military Junta of the NLC notoriety) Economic Experts and Professors, like one George Ayitey, would never want Ghanaians, especially, our Students, to know.
  
  Long Live Ghana!!!
