Sissala East Parliamentary hopeful for the National Democratic Congress, Dr. King Sulleyman Dima Bachiesichang has wished Muslims in his constituency a happy Eid al-Fitr.

Congratulating them on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, the NDC Parliamentary hopeful urged them to be spiritually guided as they’ve always been and remain steadfast.

Read below his statement.

DR. Bachiesichang (Parliamentary Candidate Hopeful) wishes Eid Mubarak to all Muslims around the world, the people of Sissala East Constituency & Upper West Region at large

In the name of Allah the most gracious the merciful. We thank Allah for guiding us through the blessed month of Ramadan. We are leaving the blessed month of Ramadan, it's beautiful days and it's fragrant nights. We have practised numerous tidings like patience, jihad, mercy, forgiveness and freedom from hell fire.

Ramadan is a school of eeman and a stop to revive one's spiritual well being to acquire ones provision for the rest of the year. This blessed month has caused a transformation in which we change our actions, habits and manners that are in variance with the law of Allah 'Azza wa jall.

I therefore cease this opportunity to wish all our Muslims brothers and sisters especially my constituents, Sisaala East Constituency, a happy EIDUL-FITR. I pray that the self control, the Taraweehs, Tahajjud, and the many dictates of Ramadan, Muslims across the constituency has engaged in that, Allah should reward you all for that. I am certain you all benefited from Ramadan, fulfilled the requirements of taqwa, prayed in it with truthfulness, and strive your soul.

Fellow folks, history is more than the past left by the path. It influences the present and shape the future. The Sissala East Constituency has served and continue to be a great beacon light of peace, tranquillity and solidarity. We have done that in moment of peace and adversity. The end of Ramadan has ushered in a glad tiding of seasonal rains. As a firm believer in social transformation and community mobilisation which are all proven development strategies. Am more than convinced to revolutionised and mechanised agriculture which is the chief stay of my constituents.

Concretized our various societal values to resonate with our growing wakeful youth. I will not hesitate to inclusively explore all strategic sectors of the Sissala land such as education, health, agriculture, Agro technology, farm mechanisation, infrastructure, road network etc for accelerated development. Measures that would evoke intuitive and innovative skills of the youth towards my "Ruralpreneurship" agenda is my topmost agenda.

Bridging the gap between theory and practice by means of applied and holistic education yet expounding our frontiers, advance vigorous debate on the floor of Parliament and zero it down to the constituency level with enhanced local participation as we cement that share of idealism at the municipality among other things.

In our collective resolve, history is not the burden of any man or woman alone but someone called to meet special share of its challenges. It's a duty that I will discharge with dignity, determination and distinction that are widely admired. I will strike this precious balance between security which is far often too threatened, and youth empowerment which is far too often denied.

I ask Allah to grant you steadfastness till the next Ramadan. I also pray that you continue to dwell in the good practices in this month and not be like one who has sewn a shirt and then destroyed it.

Abraham Lincoln once observed that "nearly all men can stand adversity but if you want to test a man's character, give him power".

Have a joyous festival.

Thank you

Dr. King Bachiesichang
