Abena and Owukua, both of you are either ‘old school’ or you are both badly educated.
Korle Bu hospital is public property. It is not a private company. Therefore in the same way that we are all freely offering our views as to the best way forward for the hospital, so also has the Senior Staff Association of Korle Bu, who are legitimately and better placed than all of us, to also offer their views on the best way forward.
What is this nonsense that they are over-stepping their bounds? If you think that they are over-stepping their bounds then you should also mind your own business and stay out of this matter. What foolishness is this?
People like Abena and Owukua, who thrive and feed fat on the corruption of the status quo of this country, are the ones who do not seem to be able to welcome news ways of getting ourselves out of the messy and unproductive old ways of doing things. With the kind of natural resources that Ghana has, everybody in this country can at the very minimum, benefit from free, continuous and uninterrupted electricity and water delivery services. But instead of this, what do we have? A life that is so miserable that many Ghanaian youth even think that trekking across the Sahara desert is a better gamble towards attaining a better life than staying in their own country.
Owukua in his glorious stupidity has the nerve to remark that these brave people who are risking their jobs and lives to demand that the right things are done to get the hospital to work more efficiently, are a nuisance. My God! I believe that Owukua must be an agent of the devil. He or she needs spiritual deliverance. What else can such a statement be attributed to? In the face of the many hundreds of patients who are needlessly dying and not getting the required medical attention at the Korle Bu hospital because of bad management, such an accusation can only be described as insensitive.
The actions of Offei-Palm and the Korle Bu Senior Staff Association are just the tip of the iceberg of bigger things to come in this country. There is so much mismanagement, corruption and ineptitude in this country that one wonders if there are any educated people in this country at all. Everywhere one looks, one is outraged by the most scandalous lack of integrity, morality, decency and organization. The seething anger and inevitable social discomforts emanating out of all this, is beginning to show signs of imminent and unrestrained eruption.
That the current Korle Bu Board should be dissolved is not a matter that requires any further discussion. It is a long overdue necessity. What should come up for discussion is the substance of the composition of a new Board. Please refer to my proposals of yesterday, 9th July 2014 on Ghanaweb titled, “CONGRATULATIONS SENIOR STAFF OF KORLE BU”, in reaction to the article, “Korle Bu CEO was incompetent – Staff.”
Congratulations to Offei-Palm and the Korle Bu Senior Staff Association. Right thinking people in this country are solidly behind you. We are few but our mouth is strong and our resolve is stronger. Stand firm and dont allow the forces of corruption and iniquity to distract you from the principled position that you have taken for, and on behalf of the people of Ghana.

Many would be missing Dr. Kwaku Frimpong-Boateng, now. Let's face it. The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is one of those Establishments in Ghana where massive Funds easily drift into private pockets without trace. Such are the 'cash-cow' entities for our Officials. It was no surprise that some of these Officials even attempted to claim it for the Ga People alone as their guaranteed location of Millionaire-making Citizens among them.
Choosing the Board and Directors for the Hospital has become so politicized that competence is relegated to the rear. Yet, sicknesses and injuries that send patients there do not discriminate among ethnicities or Political Parties.
The National Medical Associations and other Health Groups must be allowed to play major roles in choosing these oversight bodies for the Hospital and other Public ones as well.
Our Parliament has always been sitting on the sidelines, allowing only the Presidency decide on all these cases. That is too much of a load of responsibility for the Executive. It makes the Presidency all too powerful and corruptible.
All such appointments ought to be de-linked from the Presidency. It should be part of our decentralization efforts to allow independent Professional organizations determine who qualifies the most for these positions as the Directors and Boards of Hospitals.
The President must stay away from such appointments. Period!!
Long Live Ghana!!!

Surely the CEO of a major hospital should be appointed by a Regulatory/medical standards committee, endorsed by the Health Minister...its beyond belief the President appoints...a REV. misappropriating funds...whilst the funds are to cater for the sick and vulnerable, BEGGARS BELIEF...THERE'S SO MUCH WORSHIPPING OF GOD IN THAT COUNTRY, BUT THE MOST WICKED PEOPLE LIVE THERE. SHAME.GOD HELP US.

It is amassing these corrupt senior staff nerver ask for investigations and measures to clean up and tighten all knots to stop the stealing and corruption which costs the nation more than the Ghc1m luxury cars. The stealing in Korle bu stinks. These guys are using propaganda to get heir wishes done. If the government does nothing to stop the corruption there, any new CEO will just be in bed with the senior managers and nobody will hear any noises from Korle bu but Ghana will be the looser. THIEVES.

Ghana has become a lawless country. What the senior staff of Korle-Bu are doing is pure harassment of the authorities at the hospital. Yesterday it was the Chief Executive, today the Board must go tomorrow they will be calling for the removal of the Minister then the President. if they think they are not happy at the hospital they are at liberty to leave. They should understand that they can be replaced. If they don't know, there are a lot of qualified health professionals who are looking for job and will glad to take their place. Please Mr. President called their bluff and instill some discipline. Threatening and showing disrespect to government is becoming to much. We do not owe them a job if they will not appreciate the privilege of having one whilst others can not even get one. Democracy is not akin to lawlessness.

It is amazing how the president claims he is fighting corruption but now listens to a group of bandits. If the former CEO had been in bed with these senior staff members, like Charles said, no ne would have heard of any fights at Korle bu. now what is happening is, these guys will cripple every security measure and steal and loot and share with their new CEO and there will be peace but Hana will be the loser. All other governmental institutions will follow this bad example and criminality will be endorsed by a weak government. This is why I feel the government must stamp its feet down and immediately move in to investigate the people and systems and punish all others just as the CEO has been punished for buying cars for senior management members, something we see almost in all government organizations. Korle Bu is in the hands of thieves now.

Why move a corrupt CEO to be a board member? What is going on? How can there be any serious investigations when the thief is still on the board? This is insanity.
