Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has fired a warning shot to the Pharaohs of Egypt ahead of their final match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign on Sunday.
Ghana, who have failed to qualify for their fourth consecutive FIFA World Cup finals, will engage the Pharaohs of Egypt in a dead-rubber match after the North Africans secured the sole ticket of the Group E.
However, despite the insignificance of the game, Gyan says beating their perennial foes will help the team improve their position on the FIFA rankings.
“We’re here to win for the nation because when we win we playing for bride despite not qualifying for the World Cup."
“We’re here to show our competitiveness in order to boost our FIFA ranking and we also got new players in the team, who have a point to prove, so we’re not taking this game lightly all,” Gyan said after their first training session yesterday.
