Vice President of the Black Stars Management Committee, Wilfred Osei Palmer has disclosed that he was downhearted after the Black Stars drew 0-0 with Congo in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on September 1, 2017 in Kumasi.
”When we played Congo immediately after the game, I was in a state of confusion as to whether to smile or weep..I don’t know what to do to myself because I knew at that particular point in time we had lost, we missed the opportunity of making it to the World Cup.” Mr. Palmer said on Football Legend Night Show on GHone Television on Friday, 17th, November 2017.
He added that ”The game against Egypt and Uganda offered us a second opportunity to rewrite all the wrongs that we have made in the course of the campaign but yet we didn’t take advantage of it.”
The Black Stars’ FIFA 2018 World Cup hopes were dashed after they finished third in Group E with seven points from six games.
