The US soccer team were scheduled to play their last friendly with Belgium today (Thursday - same day World Cup kicks off in Brazil) before their Group G opener against Ghana on Monday.
However, the closed-door scrimmage has been called off according to the USMNT twitter feed. Two training sessions will be held at their home base, the training grounds of São Paulo FC.
Reports emanating from Brazil suggest Belgium's coach Marc Wilmots was concerned with potential delays caused by local traffic strike.
The Belgians are based about 40 miles from the US' training fields. The Red Devils are also pitted in Group H with Algeria, South Korea and Russia.
The Yanks, hence will go into Monday's game versus Ghana with boosted morale given their 2-1 win in their last friendly against Nigeria, courtesy Jozy Altidore's brace whiles other group members Portugal and Germany monitor proceedings closely.
