Not only does he appear not to be in Mourinho's plans, he also appears to be ostracised by his so-called team mates. They rarely pass the ball to him even when he sensibly positions himself to receive a pass on many occasions in the 2 matches that he has featured so far. They only pass it to him when he is in tight corner or awkward situation when he is at risk of losing the ball or giving it away. I will implore his agent and Grant to help him. They should make sure he leave for another club in January when the transfer window re-opens. It would be a disaster if such a fine young player is allowed to rot on the Chelsea bench by Mourinho.

He would have been attacked by Ghanaians as attempting to scupper Baba's chances of moving to a big club. And Chelsea fans will no doubt cry Judas at him. It would be a Double Jeopardy. Perhaps Baba, like many Ghanaians including myself believed he could fit into the Chelsea first team instead of sitting in the stands. I think we are all dumbfounded by him sitting in the stands. Some of us suspected that. But I don't think he would have made the move if he knew that was in the deal. An overwhelming majority of comments on this page advised Baba not to move to Chelsea citing the case of Atsu in particular and the fact that Chelsea have shipped out about 30 such young players on loan to other clubs. I for one pointed out to him that the Brazilian international left back (Phipe Lewis) went back to Athletico Madrid out of frustration and I just could not see how Rahman was going to avoid a similar situation. Sometimes when a young player has a greedy agent he tends to value money over the need for his players to be playing regularly at the highest level.
