Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is on an inspection tour of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) days after students vandalized property to protest claimed brutalities against them.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is the Chancellor of the University, was out of the country when all the incidents occurred.
The University was closed down indefinitely while the Governing Council was dissolved by government, which has since made a U-turn and deferred to the Asantehene.
On Wednesday, the King of the Ashanti Kingdom inspected the state of property at the school.
Already, destroyed items have been estimated at between GH¢1.6 million and GH¢1.7 million.
The University is expected to bounce back to life by Thursday, November 8 while the Governing Council is expected to be reconstituted by the Chancellor by Friday, November 2.
