The High Court has dismissed an application filed Kiss Agyebeng (L) against Dr Sledge (R)
An Accra High Court has dismissed an application filed by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) against Ghanaian businessman Nana Yaw Duodu, popularly known as Dr Sledge.
According to Law Platform, the OSP had prayed the court to grant an order confirming the freeze placed on properties belonging to Dr Sledge, Goldridge Refinery Ltd., and other parties.
According to the ruling sighted by GhanaWeb, the Commercial Division Five of the High Court, presided over by Justice Samuel Daniel Kotey, dismissed the application following legal arguments presented by Dr Sledge’s counsel, the respected Alex Kofi Osei-Owusu.

In the application, the OSP sought an order for the continued freezing of several properties, including a vehicle, an unregistered Rolls-Royce Maserati Phantom S/C, two Mercedes-Benz vehicles, two bullion vans, a Lexus SUV, and two Toyota Land Cruisers.
These items were listed as properties whose freeze the OSP sought to have confirmed by the court.
The OSP also included personal belongings such as jewellery and other personal effects of the first respondent, Dr Sledge, which were similarly itemised for confirmation of their freeze.
Additionally, the OSP requested that the court grant leave for the filing of written submissions and supporting documents.
In his ruling, Justice Kotey ordered the parties to file and serve their written submissions by January 23.

On that date, the court adjourned the matter to January 29, 2026, for the respondents, Dr Sledge, Goldridge Refinery Ltd., Evelyn Duodu, and Ama Duodu, to serve the OSP with their submissions.
The court further ordered that the OSP may file supplementary written submissions should it wish to respond to the legal arguments raised by counsel for the respondents.
Counsel for the respondents included Alex Kofi Osei-Owusu for the first and second respondents, JB Dankwah for the third respondent, and the learned Eddie McCarthy for the fourth respondent.
