The Deputy Minority leader of parliament and Member of Parliament for Ketu North Municipality, Dr. James Klutse Avedzi has reached out to Muslims in his constituency with foodstuffs as they [Muslims] celebrate Ramadan.

A total of four mosques which are located in three towns; Dzodze, Tadzewu and Ehie in the entire Ketu North municipality, benefitted from the food items which were handed to the Islamic leaders in those communities.

In all, 13 sacks of rice, 13 gallons of cooking oil, and 60 boxes of sugar were handed over to the Islamic leaders in the three communities.

The Hon. Member of Parliament was accompanied by the NDC constituency chairman, Bismark Adrigbate, and other party executives in the municipality.

Though there were claims by the team that there is a mosque at Ehie, checks conducted by this reporter, showed that there has never been a mosque at Ehie despite the presence of Muslims in the town.

The Ehie Muslim leadership, therefore, called on him to help the Ehie Muslim community get a mosque. They however appreciated the donation and good gesture shown them by the Hon. MP.

The Islamic leaders in the other two communities also expressed appreciation and asked for Allah’s protection and guidance for the MP.

James Klutse praised Muslims in the municipality for their efforts towards peaceful coexistence with others of other religions in the municipality.

Unlike some municipalities where there are reported fracas between Muslims and persons of other religions, Ketu North has never recorded that since time memorial.
