K. Agyapong: Some NPP big shots just want to tarnish my image

Suspended General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyapong has alleged that some party executives are hiding behind some high-profile people to tarnish his image and others.

Speaking on Accra-based Kasapa Fm on Friday, a day after his indefinite suspension, Mr Agyapong said some members of the National Executive Council are using diabolic means to oust some party executives from the Party.

He said when the Disciplinary Committee was in session, some party executives and some Members of Parliament were destroying him and other executives in the media.

“When other party members chose to go public during the Disciplinary Committee meeting , I felt the matters could no longer be handled as an internal party issue since it was already in the court of public opinion,” he added.

According to him, the allegation that himself and Paul Afoko had squandered the party’s money, necessitating the reactivation of one of the party’s dormant bank accounts is false.

The General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Kwabena Agyapong and second national vice-chairman Sammy Crabbe have been suspended indefinitely.

The disciplinary committee of the party took the decision after some petitions were brought against Mr Agyapong and Mr Crabbe.

The National Executive Committee of the party in a meeting on Thursday, December 10, 2015 to deliberate over the Disciplinary Committee’s recommendations regarding the two, suspended Sammy Crabbe and Kwabena Agyepong.
