Hello everyone, there’s plenty football today and as we have been doing since the tournament commenced, we will be running text commentary of all four games.
Two slots in the round of 16 are up for grabs this afternoon and Senegal, Colombia and Japan will be vying for them.
Senegal remains Africa’s only hope for a place in the next round but face an uphill task in an overcoming a Colombia team that is n the ascendancy and also have their key player – James Rodriguez peaking at the most crucial time.
Senegal however need just a draw to qualify to the next round and coach Aliou Cisse is charging his players to go all out and win the game for their country and the continent.
Senegal and Colombia have faced each other just once before, in a friendly in May 2014, with Colombia taking a 2-0 lead into half-time, only to concede two goals in the second half.
Japan like Senegal also need a draw against Poland to advance to the next round but the Blue Samurais are not settling for less. They are aiming at a win.
“I think we have to focus on getting three points rather than make calculations. We have four points after two games but we haven't accomplished anything yet, says Japan captain, Makoto Hasebe.
Poland have zero point from two games but are bent on leaving the tournament with at a face-saving point.
2:00 pm is the kick off time for both games
