A member of the Economic Management Committee of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Samuel Ampah, has taken a dig at President John Dramani Mahama, saying he is no match for the PPP’s standard bearer, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom.
In his view, the country has a leadership and thinking deficit which cannot be solved by both the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), seeking the mandate of the electorate in the December 7, polls.
“We want to see proper strategic thinking. We want to see proper strategic implementation because this country we’ve had enough,” said Ampah Monday on 3FM.
According to him, Nduom stands tall among all the Flagstaff House hopefuls as he has personally created an “economy within an economy” employing over 5000 people across the country.
He said the business magnate has proven in both private and public lives that he is capable of resuscitating the ailing Ghanaian economy.
“This is the person we are putting forward,” Ampah said.
Reacting to comments that the PPP lacks the needed experience to revive the economy, he said, admittedly, the PPP lacks governance experience but it has the men to do the job.
Also, he said the party is providing for people to join the PPP.
“we might not be in government but we have shown that we have the people...Trust me...you can’t even compare President John Mahama to Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom in any way,” Ampah said.
He added “when you put the two together and try to look at their personal contribution, their personal contribution; take he [Mahama] being the president out of the equation. Of course, he has been given the platform to serve this country, but take the personal. Let’s put them on the same pedestal you can’t compare.”
