For a moment, the clock of mourning stopped ticking when students of the Commonwealth Hall of the University of Ghana, popularly known as the Vandals took the centre stage at the one week celebration of ace broadcaster, Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong also known as KABA.

In a charged up mood, the Vandals sang danceable tunes popularly referred to as ‘Jama’ to eulogize the late host of Asempa FM’s afternoon political show, ‘Ekosii Sen’.

They took turns to extend sympathy to the bereaved family and colleges of KABA seated at the ceremony.

The event held at the forecourt of The Multimedia Group at Kokomlemle Saturday saw hundreds of sympathisers thronging the premises to commiserate with the family and contribute their widow’s mite towards the funeral of the late presenter.

Aside cash donations, some individuals and companies donated cartons of their products including alcoholic beverages, soft drinks and water.

KABA’s sudden death came as a shock to many. He was pronounced dead on November 18, 2017, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.

Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong was survived by a wife, Valentina Ofori Afriyie and a seven-month-old baby girl.

His funeral has been scheduled for December 15-17, 2017 in Accra, the family head, Elder George Nyarko, disclosed Saturday, at the one-week celebration of the late presenter’s passing.
