Pressure group Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) has said former Attorney General Betty Mould-Iddrisu and her Deputy Ebo Barton-Odro should have also been prosecuted in the just-ended Ghc51.2-million fraud and financial loss case.

Mr. Woyome, a businessman and financier of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) was on Thursday acquitted and discharged on both counts of defrauding the state by false pretence and causing financial loss to the state.

The judgment debt was paid to Mr Woyome during the tenure of Mrs Mould-Iddrisu and Barton-Odro as AG and Deputy.

AFAG has always been critical of the two former Ministers as far as the payment is concerned.

Speaking to Kweku Obeng Adjei moments after Judge John Ajet-Nassam acquitted and discharged Mr Woyome of both counts, AFAG spokesperson Davis Opoku asked: “Why wasn’t Betty Mould part of this case; why wasn’t the former deputy Attorney General Barton-Odro part of this case because they led us into this mess.”

Mrs Mould-Iddrisu told Bola Ray on Starr FM on the eve of Thursday’s ruling that she did nothing untoward in the payment of the judgment debt to Mr Woyome.
