The National Women’s Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Hanna Louisa Bissiw, has chided the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo describing him as a coward, clueless who can’t govern but threatens and intimidates the opposition with the police.

According to the angry party executive, there is a God who is greater than the president and should anything happen to the Chairman of the NDC, God will definitely punish the former.

“The center cannot hold, you can’t do anything Akufo-Addo….you know the party headquarters at Adabraka, go and boom the place…do your worst but make sure nothing happens to the chairman….God will punish you” she said during an interview with the media at the CID headquarters Tuesday evening.

Dr Bissiw who was at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters following the arrest of Samuel Ofosu Ampofo added “this is all that you can do…shame unto you…you are a disgrace.”

The Criminal Investigative Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service arrested the Chairman of the opposition NDC, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo over an alleged leaked tape which attacked verbally public officers like the Chairpersons of the Electoral Commission (EC) and the National Peace Council.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo’s arrest comes after he refused to honour an invitation to report to the Director General of the CID, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, to assist in investigations into the recent spate of kidnappings and arson in the country.

He is currently on trial for allegedly inciting some of his party’s supporters towards violent acts in apparent response to the violence during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

He is facing charges of conspiracy to cause harm and assault on a public officer.

The NDC Chairman was however released from police custody after being detained for about five hours.

He is to report back to the police on Thursday, June 13.
