Funny that the truth isn't told that Kotoka wasn't the brainchild behind the Trust Fund. The two people behind that Trust Fund were Busia and his crony Afrifa, the Major turned General who wielded power in the NLC with Busia pulling the strings from the outside. As intelligent as Kotoka was, he really had no clue that he was not being accorded the respect that he deserved, but rather he was being used to by Busia and Afrifa to garner support within the Armed Forces since Kotoka was highly regarded within the Armed Forces. This trickery was to be played again by Afrifa when the Brong-Ahafo and Ashanti Regions both suffered severe flooding. Suddenly, the newspapers in Ghana were plastered with requests for donations to rehabilitate Afrifa's village, but not the rest of Ashanti and Brong-Aahafo Regions. In no time, corporations, both private and public, were appearing daily in the papers, donating large sums to the Afrifa Fund. That's how Afrifa was able to turn his village overnight into a modernized town with amenities that many larger towns did not have. All this was done while the rest of Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo Regions still lay under flood ravages. Afrifa and Busia used Kotoka to achieve their diabolical plan, the same way these two traitors used General Ankrah and then set him up with a Nigerian con man Nzeribe (the godfather of Nigerian scams) before booting him off the NLC with a flimsy accusation. The NLC was nothing but a story of greedy bomb-throwers and nation-wrecking traitors carrying out their selfish agenda at the expense of the people of Ghana, and with the direct assistance of the USA and its CIA. What folks should be asking then is, if Akufo-Addo is so against coups and criticize Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso for staging their coups, why then has he spent his time as President renaming everything in sight in Ghana but has not renamed the Accra International Airport that is named after coup participant Kotoka and is now known as KIA? And speaking of airport names, I believe the Kumasi airport should be named after Prempeh I and Prempeh II, for these two royals were true leaders who contributed greatly to the Ashanti Region and Ghana. And if the government is against coups, then KIA should be renamed in consultation with the Ga Mashie and Parliament.
