I believe this noise will evaporate in a few weeks to come without a resolution.
I don't see the bill being signed this election year.
Worst case scenario, a secret vote will have to be conducted to assent the bill in Parliament and we all know, the 2/3 majority will not be obtained.
Let's focus our energies on how to abate corruption in the country.

And as the records show, that toothless octogenarian got a miserable 3rd class certificate, at a time when his own mates and friends such as the late Amoako Tuffuor, Professor John Atta-Mills, Kwame Pianim, JH Mensah, and the many others were blowing FIRST CLASS with ease! Now, because he had failed in life, this forest deity called Akuffo Addo hatched some wicked plot to enter politics and assume some lofty position through calculated deception. Imagine, you were walking pass a neigbour's house and you saw him preparing a special kind of food. Years later, your neighbour decides to stop eating that particular food.

The fact that some of the colonialists did evil to our forefathers using the Bible as a cover, so some assert, does not take away the peace, the eternal glory the power of the Cross, revealed in the Bible has brought and still is bringing to millions of souls across Africa. You don't see some of our own pastors are doing worst things than what the colonial masters ever did?

The issue here is the acts of lgbtq+. Is it right for somebody or a group or another sovereign state to force another sovereign state to accept and practice it or let it spread and creep through our cultural fabric? What sort of generation will we leave behind? Cities and villages of Sodom and Gomorrah will be the hallmark of our nation! And we shouldn't call the bluff of the scourge?

No sensible and rational human being can fail to see how absurd, disgusting, dehumanizing lgbtq+ is.

Proponents hide behind human rights to push the foolish agenda on poor countries. Were Ghana among the rich, this bill would have become law the next day. So, if there's any blame, put it right at the doorsteps of our political leaders who have failed to manage our rich God given resources enough to make us economically independent.

Some Ghanaians, especially Politicians take our Law Courts for granted and carry out frivolous lawsuits and appear on the media to talk about them. Stupidly, some Ghanaians see such Politicians as made of steel and fear nothing. If they lose stupid lawsuits and are made to pay hundreds of thousands of Cedis for wasting the time of the Courts, they will start to reason. If such people don’t pay, the Courts can sell their properties and garnish their salaries. Francois Mitterrand was right when he said that Democracy is good and sweet but not for Africans.

Had they allowed secret ballot it would have had some credibility. The MP proponents an their religious allies are behaving like a lynch mob. They have been attacking everyone who opposes the bill as gay. Does this make sense in a democracy. Sam George should understand that he took his child to an expensive abrofosem school where it is presumed that the kids are being prepared culturally, and rightly so, for vacationing and further education and life in Europe and America where same sex marriage is rife. They will not suffer a cultural shock or embarrass themselves when they get there. Sister Derby will never be invited to speak to my kids in public schools. Ghana is not a gay society, but the Western countries flooded with children of politicians, clergy, business elites have gone gay, yet you don't fear. You rather fear for the children of those of us who can't afford the life of living harmoniously with LBGTQs which your children aspire to from montessori to University.

The focus on the immediate effect on donor aid is obvious but consider the impact on investment, if a company is investing in Ghana won't the review or laws. Of course is we have laws that are incompatible with global best practice, especially that which criminalise their gay employees and shareholders will Ghana still be such a preferred destination? With one stupid act of Parliament we have moved from the most peaceful country to the most intolerant in Africa. Our tourism from Western countries will dry up not just from gays but from non gays who consider this as a human rights issue. This is indeed a shithole legislature that can blindly walk us into another crisis with every member present.

You CANNOT blame any potential drop in foreign investment or tourism on the passing of this bill and its translation to law. Blame it where it copiously and justifiably belongs; political ineptitude and dire economic mismanagement.

Do we sit down for another country to dictate to us what we should do? They are flexing their economic muscles on us because they know how weak and bad our economic strength has been and is today. Arabs states have harsher anti-gay laws, but they dare not bother them because they are economically sound capable of standing on their own.

The bottom line is lgbtq+ is pure balderdash and Ghana as a sovereign state cannot allow it to seep through our cultural fiber.
