President Putin should have been dead many times over if all that we have read about him in the Western press is to be believed. For a man supposed to be on his last legs from a variety of cancers and other deadly ailments he seems remarkably robust. In the last month he been holding press conferences and fielding questions from reporters over marathon 2-3 hour sessions and not ever needing notes. We are yet to see a single Western leader demonstrating a similar level of endurance and focus and being able to answer questions succinctly from the reporters without referring to personal notes.
