Don't you understand why? Ask Mahama and Agambira laptop connection. We will also chop some before we go. The nokofio in food is small, but the laptop connection is huge. Just imagine buying over one million laptops.

Even urban areas like Accra have serious electricity problems, how much more the other two-thirds of the country where students sit under trees as classrooms. How will they recharge their tablets?

Much as on the surface, this gesture may sound like a good one, it is evident for anyone who can see or think that, it was ill-thought-out, badly planned and doomed to failure. The whole thing sounds very much like the situation of some people who own nice expensive cars but live in one-room rented places.

I schooled in the North, over 40 years ago, when I guess you were not born, we didn’t have constant supply of electricity in the school, in fact in all the three Northern Regions at the time. We had electricity supply only on market days, which lasted maximum twelve hours for the day, it went off at times before 8pm. We used lanterns 90% of the times for our studies.

The quality of food served in the school too wasn’t the best, but with all these constraints we managed to pass our exams, and continued with our education to the tertiary level. This includes those from the north who are now deceiving you guys that FSHS is not good. They are hypocrites and very ungrateful to mother Ghana. I can confidently tell you, without equivocation or being condescending that, about 70% of them wouldn’t have been who they claim to be now, without free education. Their behaviour is a stub in the back of Kwame Nkrumah who most of them to cherish.

If you had paid attention during the launching of the Smart Schools Project, you would have heard about an inbuilt solar power system in the tablets. I will advise you to tell your ilk to rather present to Ghanaians in a convincing manner, their “better alternative policies” if they have any, instead of their ugly noises.

Even when we were paying boarding fees there were feeding problems here and there. At times we can eat rice and "gas" stew for dinner for a week. The authorities add cassava leaves to few kontomire to prepare stew. The government is trying his best. That is why some stakeholders are calling for review so that the those who can afford should be allowed to pay boarding fees.
