The diver should clear his/her lungs of the artificial air before getting into any enclosure that has air conditioning. An incident took place in Europe where someone had to deliver a perishable package that contained chemical ice which is a very strong and powerful chemical reagent. Apparently when the chemical is kept in any air conditioned environment there's instant death. The person who kept the chemical ice died the very instant he kept it in his air conditioned car.

When you dive down a pool of water, the pressure your body experinces is equal to the atomospheric pressure plus the pressure due to the depth you go down. For example for every one meter of depth you body experience an extra pressure of 9790 Newtons per meter squared. so if you go down at abpout 5 meters the extra pressure is about 50000 Newtons per square meters. This compresses the gas within you.
When you are surfacing you surface slowly to allow decompression; that is to allow the gas in your system to slowly expand. Quick decompression can cause waht is called fluid hammer which can hurt or kill you.
In her case, probably she has never trained the body for such an experience.
I sympathize with her. You see a squirrel cannot never pretend to be a mouse because its tail with be hairy. You use our resources to build great tourist centers in African and develop all these as hobbies. African has some of the beautiful beaches in the world.
My wife is from Somalia and we just returned from a visit . I can tell you they have a spectacular white beaches and great ocean waves. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Was this a case of decompression disease also called "The Bends" or Caisson Disease"?Decompression illness (DCI) usually refers to one of 2 related conditions and both are most commonly associated with scuba and deep sea divers. When underwater, divers breathe compressed air that contains nitrogen gas at the same pressure as the surrounding water. This accumulates in the diver's body tissue, and is breathed out on ascent, providing that ascent occurs at a safe rate. When a diver swims to the surface too quickly (a rapid ascent), the nitrogen can form tiny bubbles in the blood and/or body tissues, causing decompression sickness (DCS).
DCS may occur even if a person dives within the limits of their dive computer or decompression tables and even if they complete a safety stop.
If a diver swims to the surface too quickly, and holds their breath while doing so (a rapid breath hold ascent), the resulting reduction in the ambient pressure can cause their lungs to over-inflate. This can cause the lung’s tiny air sacks to rupture, allowing air bubbles to escape directly into the blood stream. These air bubbles can block the flow of blood to different parts of the body, which is called arterial gas embolism (AGE) [Dept of Health West Australia].
People with various pre-existing medical conditions may be much more susceptible to this potentially fatal condition. One such condition that Ghanaians need to be careful about is Sickle cell disease/traits. I am not at all suggesting that she had Sickle Cell Disease or Trait.

The most severe risks associated with scuba diving are arterial air embolism and decompression sickness(DCS). Air embolism occurs when air bubbles enter the bloodstream and block blood flow to the lungs. DCS, also known as "the bends," occurs when a scuba diver ascends too quickly, and nitrogen bubbles form in the blood. Both of these conditions can be fatal if not treated immediately.
