No woman won the election that gave us our lndependence held on 12 and 17 July 1956. to become an MP .So the Independence Parliament consisted of all men Before Ghana became a Republic in 1960, Dr Nkrumah had enacted a special law, Representation of the People (Women Members) Act in June 1960 which elected 10 women MPS to the Republican Parliament..So the Republican Parliament had 10 women MPS. Now under Nana President Akufo Addo, men have been supported to oust women MPS like Freda Prempeh and Cynthia Morrison from Parliament. Whereas President Nkrumah passed a special law to get women in Parliament, as for Nana President Akufo Addo, he supports the ousting of women from Parliament. At Oman FM, l used to hear the voices of Otiko Djaba,Maame Efua Akoto, Freda Prempeh, Cynthia Morrison etc Where are they now? All of them outsted. Cynthia Morrison, take it easy.
