This is another position the cartel boss has earmarked to replace with a younger baby serpent just to have a grip on state institutions even after his tenure. This has been long cooked. Clearly, this one was made to resign rather than seeing himself axe by a sacking letter.

For instance we have 16 regions in Ghana here and if each region is fully represented in the government, we will see the sharing of the national cake equally. Nana Addo will not appoint you because you are Akan. He will appoint you because you are at least an NPP sympathiser.
THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH NON-AKANS IN NPP. That makes it difficult for the president.
The constitution doesn't help. For example, the constitution says two thirds of ministers must come from parliament. There are not enough non Akan NPP MPs.
If we stop voting on tribal bases this problem will go away. NPP won only three regions out of the sixteen. They are mostly Akan regions. So you expect appointments to go to those regions.
As for making appointments on regional bases to share "the national cake equally"; this is old way of thinking. We have gone past that. Appointments should never be on tribal bases, but on political ideology bases.
NPP needs more non-Akan members. If there are more Voltarian NPP MPs, there would be more Voltarian appointees. Simple.
Nana Addo hates tribalism. Rather he believes strongly in "political tribe". His tribe is NPP regardless of where you come from.
We the voters are to be blamed not the Government.

Just do a little research to find out where most of the people who occupied the positions you enumerated during the time of PNDC and NDC came from. You'll then understand why NPP would lean towards their 'own' when making these important appointments anytime they're in power. One good example, if you may recall, Dr Addo Kufuor, a brother of President Kufuor was his Defence Minister for the 8 years that he was in power. Sincerely, can you fault him for doing that? I don't think so. I think this may change as our democracy deepens.
