Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has held high-level talks with GB Foods, a subsidiary of Agrolimen, as part of her official engagements in Barcelona, Spain.

The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to deepen Ghana’s longstanding relationship with Spain and explore mutually beneficial investment opportunities, particularly in the agricultural sector.

She shared the update in an X post on April 17, 2026.

“As part of my engagements in Barcelona, I had a meeting with GB Foods, a subsidiary of Agrolimen. Ghana has a longstanding relationship with Spain, and this engagement underscored the government’s commitment to pursuing mutually beneficial partnerships,” the post read.

The discussions centred on the tomato value chain, with a focus on aligning private sector investment with the government’s broader agenda of promoting agro-processing, value addition, and job creation.

A key priority highlighted during the talks was the need to fully integrate Ghanaian tomato farmers into the value chain to ensure sustainable livelihoods, boost local production, and reduce reliance on imports.
